Thos. Hewitt, aged about 30 years, son of Thos. Hewitt, Sr., died at the farm residence of his father, two and a half miles east of here, on Sunday last, and the remains were brought to this city for burial Tuesday. The funeral was the largest seen for many a day. Deceased had been sick but a few days when the lung fever set in and did its work. The young man was highly respected by all, and his untimely demise is greatly regretted. Mineral Point Tribune March 24, 1881
