Finding Aids
The Mineral Point Library Archives' mission is to collect and preserve historically significant materials regarding the Mineral Point area. The Archives' mission is equally committed to seeing that these materials are available to the public. To this end the Archives produces “Finding Guides” to individual collections as these materials are organized and made ready for use. The Mineral Point Library Archives Finding Guides follow nationally recognized standards set forth by professional archivists.
Each Finding Guide includes administrative information about the source and size of the collection, a biography or organizational history of the creator of the documents, a description of the contents highlighting points of interest, and an inventory of the box(es) listing each folder title.
We do not have Finding Guides for every collection but we continue to add more. Therefore, the following Finding Guide Index is periodically updated. To read the entire Finding Guide for a particular collection click on the Finding Guide Title in the Index below.
