Mrs. Ann Remfrey In the city of Darlington, on Sunday, July 31, 1887, of chronic inflammation of the stomach, Mrs. Ann Remfrey, aged 69 years. Mrs Remfrey was a native of Cornwall, England, and came with her parents to Mineral Point in August, 1834, fifty-three years ago. Her mother died about a year after she came here, and was the first woman buried in the old cemetery. About forty-two years ago, deceased was married to Andrew Remfry, who died in January, 1877. Since the death of her husband, she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Wm. B. Wallis of Darlington. Mrs. Remfrey was a good wife and mother, was never heard to speak ill of anybody, never had an enemy, and was a true Christian. During her long sickness, which was very painful, she was always patient and forbearing, and often told her children not to mourn for her, for she was going to be with Jesus. She leaves four grown sons and daughters, with a host of friends, to mourn her loss. Her remains were brought to Mineral Point and interred in the old cemetery, on Tuesday, August 2d.
