Death of Mrs Hood. Mrs Matilda E. Hood died at her residence in this city on Friday last, Sept 12th - from dropsy. Mrs Hood came to Mineral Point in 1827 and was long associated with the early history of Wisconsin. She was about seventy years of age at the time of her death. The funeral took place on Sunday last and was largely attended by relatives of the deceased, old settlers and our citizens generally. Iowa County Democrat, Sept 19, 1879
